Home Stretch

Well she made it. Shannon's last day at WWE was yesterday - they had a small party for her over at the TV building. So many people very sad to see her leaving, yet all of them are so happy for us and for our road ahead.

So we celebrated last night at our favorite New Haven restaurant - "Roomba" - a Cuban/Carribbean/fusion restaurant. Although everything is awesome, the highlight would have to be the soup of the day - pumpkin/apple/spice - oh so harvesty and yummy.

Posted a few pics to the vineyard site yesterday. Most remarkable is seeing the wedding site before/after pics right next to each other. Holy rock wall Batman... Have a look.

So now we're in the critical stage of the renovations. We have to finish this place because next weekend Shannon moves down - :( - to start her new job - :) - and I'll be up here holding an open house on Sunday. I really want her to be able to relax and rest this week (salon appointment on Wed - thanks Memom) so we have to finish all the construction/painting this weekend so she can get some rest.

As for the move, we're renting a small house just outside of Hillsboro about 10 minutes from our land. 1 bedroom, living room (wood stove), den/office, kitchen, garage, on 6 acres with a fishing pond. After the insanity of these past months, we are going to be hibernating this winter for sure! Here's a few pics:

Needless to say, I am absolutely thrilled for Shannon. She has waited so long for this day!! I am glad she will have a few days of "rest & relaxation" before heading down to VA to start on the next chapter in her life. I must say whoever took the pictures of your new house did a fine job and the lovely "model" standing on the front porch adds extra flavor!!! Got the key on Saturday late afternoon to the house. Will be going on Wednesday to do some cleaning up as Tom was going to have someone come and clean the oven and other cleaning hopefully today, Sunday. I figured let him/them do the heavy cleaning and I'll just sparkle it up. Can't wait until next weekend to see you both and can't wait to get to CT the following weekend to see the end results in person. I love you both!! Mom

I don't know how much "R&R" I'll actually get this week. So far it has veen painting & packing and I don't see the end in sight. Oh the joys of moving! :-) At least tomorrow I'll be giving myself a little treat with a hair cut at the salon...and MeMom through in a gift certificate for a facial and body wrap!!! Then I'm back to more packing and bill sorting before leaving on Friday. I can't believe how fast it's finally coming. Thanks for picking up the keys and cleaning the new shack Mickey!!! It'll be a nice way to start off the next move. :-)
